CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Five people were wounded in a shooting last night in Rogers Park, Chicago police said.

The five were among at least six people on the sidewalk on Howard Street near Ashland Avenue at about 11:40 p.m. when two cars approached.

Officials said there was some kind of argument, and individuals from both cars opened fire on the group. Someone returned fire before running away.

Police arrived to find two women and three men — in their 20s and 30s — with wounds mostly to their arms and legs. One man had a graze wound to the head. He refused medical treatment.

The others were taken to St. Francis Hospital in good condition.

Both cars sped away after the shooting.

Police said no one is in custody. The shooting is under investigation.
