17-year-old boy charged with shooting three people to death in Bolingbrook

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Bolingbrook police have charged a 17-year-old boy in connection with a home invasion and fatal shooting of three people in southwest suburban Bolingbrook Sunday night.

Police said they believe the suspect, Byrion Montgomery, was in a relationship with of one of the victims.

Officers were called to the home on Lee Lane around 8:15 p.m.

When they arrived, authorities said they found two adults and two juvenile girls had been shot.

Police said one adult female and one juvenile girl were transported to an area hospital. The girl died from her injuries. Two others: a 40-year-old man named Cartez Daniels, and a 17-year-old girl named Samiya A. Shleton-Tillman, also died from the shooting.

Police believe Montgomery and Shelton-Tillman were in a relationship.

A 4-year-old and a 14-year-old were in the house at the time, but police said they were not hurt.

Officials said they are still waiting for positive identification on the second juvenile girl from the DuPage County Coroner's Office.

Montgomery's bond was set at $20 million.

The suspect is believed to have acted alone.
