GLENVIEW (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A 27-year-old woman was shot and killed inside a motel room early Sunday morning.
Police said officers found Aliyaha Frierson of Chicago at the Motel 6, on Milwaukee Avenue near Jenna Road, a little after 5 a.m. with an apparent gunshot wound. They immediately began administering life saving measures on the woman, but she died a short time later.
A person of interest was taken into custody without incident and a gun was recovered, police said.
Glenview Police Detectives along with the North Regional Violent Crime Task Force are investigating.
Police believe this was an isolated incident with no threat to the public.
