Tom Brady still won’t shake Nick Foles’ hand

(RADIO.COM Sports) Thursday wasn't Buccaneers star quarterback Tom Brady’s finest hour. Not only did he cost his team by losing track of what down it was in the final minute of a 20-19 loss to the Bears, but Brady also flunked in the sportsmanship department, blowing off Chicago counterpart Nick Foles in the postgame handshake line. Brady is now 0-2 in his career against Foles -- their previous encounter came in Super Bowl LII, when Foles' Eagles beat Brady's Patriots -- and has yet to shake his kryptonite’s hand.

Brady was in a bad mood for much of Thursday, ripping into his offensive linemen on a sideline tantrums after Tampa Bay had committed five penalties on a single drive. Frustrated by the loss and the role his late-game gaffe played in it, Brady made a beeline for the Bucs’ locker room postgame, leaving Foles hanging at midfield.

Brady certainly isn't the only great to eschew the postgame handshake. Recently, LeBron James left the court early during the Lakers’ loss to the Heat in Game 3 of the NBA Finals, assuring he wouldn’t cross paths with Jimmy Butler or his Miami teammates. In Super Bowl 50, then-Panthers quarterback Cam Newton spurned the media with short answers before cutting his interview short. And if you dig even deeper into the archives, Isiah Thomas’ snub of Michael Jordan in the 1991 Eastern Conference Finals was part of the reason he didn't play on the iconic “Dream Team” in Barcelona the following year.

Brady's action came after the Bucs had countless chances to take control against the Bears and put them away. Tampa Bay led 13-0 late into the second quarter and 19-17 late in the game, but Chicago converted a field goal with 1:13 remaining that proved to be the difference.
