Saying 'it's all about money', Poloncarz launches blistering attack on Bills' PSL process

"They love you as much as the amount of money you bring to the table"

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz lashed out at the Buffalo Bills on Friday over the NFL team's unfolding process for obtaining Personal Seat Licenses (PSLs) for the new Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park.

"They love you as much as the amount of money you bring to the table," said Poloncarz as he launched a blistering attack on the team.

Bills fans, so far mainly club and suite seat holders, have been learning the costs associated with their proposed seats in the new stadium, including the cost of a PSL, which can be financed over time.

While the Bills have remained tight-lipped on the PSL costs, fans have been vocal and posting to Facebook images of invoices as high as $50,000 for PSL's associated with high-end seating in the new facility.

WBEN has learned from highly informed sources the early Season Ticket retention rate thus far is in the 75% range.

Poloncarz believes the Bills are testing the PSL market with the higher-end seating, and expects they will adjust the costs for the remaining PSLs, based on that outcome. The county executive believes the costs should be known for all fans up front.

The new stadium, currently under construction in Orchard Park, received $850 million in public funding toward the total cost which has grown in excess of $1.5 billion.

"It's the modern NFL, where it's all about money," Poloncarz said.
