Widespread snow Thursday morning will be just enough to impact the Thursday morning commute and bring wintry conditions across the Western New York region before dissipating later in the day.
"We're looking at widespread snow across Western New York this morning," National Weather Service meteorologist Phillip Pandolfo tells WBEN. "This snow is expected to diminish as we go through the daytime hours." Pandolfo adds, however, "Expect a slow and slick commute this morning."
Additional snowfall accumulations will be light overall, with 1-3 inches possible in some spots.
The snow will dissipate gradually throughout the day, Pandolfo notes. "It's going to be a 'slow burn' through the day today....the majority should be done in the morning hours."
Some additional light accumulating snow is also in the forecast fro Friday into Saturday, however not a major weather system by any stretch.
"Beyond that, we are going to be looking at a warming trend over the weekend and early next week, with temperatures averaging above normal."
