Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - After 11 years in Downtown Buffalo, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que says it is closing its downtown location and moving to a new location in Western New York.

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que announced on Tuesday the upcoming closure of its location at 301 Franklin Street, as its lease comes to an end on Feb. 28. The last day of operation at the location will be Feb. 2, or until the BBQ runs out.

The good news is Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is moving to a new location at 4245 McKinley Parkway. The new location is expected to open its doors in late summer or early fall of 2025.

"We couldn’t be prouder of our incredible team in Buffalo, who poured their hearts into delivering the best barbecue and hospitality. We’re deeply grateful for the community that welcomed us 11 years ago and kept coming back for more," said Mike Nugent, CEO of Dinosaur Bar-B-Que. "As one door closes, another opens, and we’re excited to bring our unique flavors and vibe to Hamburg."

Guests can still redeem their gift cards at the Buffalo location until it closes, or at any of the five other Dinosaur Bar-B-Que locations across New York State. All gift cards will also be honored at the Hamburg location once it opens.
