Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo ICE agents made three arrests locally as a national sweep took place. In total, 538 arrests were made nationwide.
Pedro Julio Meja, who's a citizen of the Dominican Republic was arrested. He was previously convicted of sexual conduct against a child.
Agents also arrested Luis Alberto Espinoza-Boconsaca, a convicted rapist, and Albert Mills, a Canadian citizen convicted of endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of stolen property.
The Trump administration announced Friday that it is expanding a fast-track deportation authority nationwide, allowing immigration officers to deport migrants without appearing before a judge as the president seeks to make good on a sweeping agenda of removing everyone who is in the U.S. illegally.
