Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - As we come out of our snow caves this week, it's a question on the minds of many: Will Taylor Swift make an appearance at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park on Sunday for the Buffalo Bills' playoff matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs?
Nicholas Picholas from KISS 98.5 plays the in-stadium music selections at home games.
"It won't be confirmed until we see her. My personal thought is, I wouldn't come if I was Taylor, It's going to be hostile territory," Nick told Susan Rose at WBEN on Friday.
While the pop superstar has close to a billion followers, Nick said many in Bills country are backing off this weekend.
"There's a huge backlash or negative vibe from a lot of Bills Mafia." Adding, "It's a touchy subject. Maybe you like Taylor or you like the Bills. You probably don't like both this week."
If she comes, then the question becomes, where does she watch the game?
Nick said there are plenty of good suites in the stadium. "Sometimes celebrities come to the games and you might not see them [on the giant screen] because they don't want to be shown. Usually the stadium people are pretty respectful of that. But trust me, cameras will find her and the network will be showing her if she's there."
KISS 98.5 thought about boycotting her songs this weekend, but in the end, Nick said they're keeping her on their playlist. "We're not a mean station. We decided to let it be."
Will there be Taylor Swift music at the stadium on Sunday?
"We don't generally play Taylor Swift music," noted Nick. "It doesn't really come up."
He said "Swiftmania" is such a side bar. He's hoping Bills Mafia are really loud Sunday night to make it a very unpleasant place for the visiting team.
The last time Taylor Swift was in the Buffalo area was 2008 when she appeared at the Erie County Fair.
