PVC Chemical found the best solution when it came to a neighboring Elk Street sports field that, the company alleged, interfered with its operations.

The solution?

PVC paid $13.5 million for five parcels along Elk and Babcock streets that once housed the Medaille University sports complex and, last spring, was identified by Buffalo Pro Soccer as the home for its stadium.

Because of concerns raised by PVC, Buffalo Pro Soccer dropped those plans and continues to look for a new Buffalo site.

The playing field and adjoining fieldhouse were developed a decade ago by Buffalo businessman Jon Williams.

Williams, through his South Buffalo Development LLC affiliate, sold the playing field to PVC.

Williams continues to own the fieldhouse.

"PVC isn't going anywhere, so we had to work something out," Williams said.

In fact, PVC is considering expanding and upgrading its Buffalo plant.
