2 men in convertible dead after minivan driver attempts U-turn on LI

MILLER PLACE, N.Y. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- Two men were killed Monday evening on Long Island when their convertible collided with a minivan whose driver was attempting a U-turn, Suffolk County police said.

The two men were headed westbound on Route 25A in an Audi convertible coupe when the Audi crashed into a Kia Sedona minivan just east of Park Avenue in Miller Place around 7:30 p.m.

The Kia was driven by a 35-year-old woman who was headed eastbound on Route 25A and attempting to make a U-turn, according to police.

The driver of the Audi, Victor Lanzotti, 32, of Rocky Point, and his passenger, Raymond Neff, 37, of Mount Sinai, were mortally injured in the crash.

The men were pronounced dead at the scene by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Kia driver was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks, police said.
