Man, 35, dies after being shot multiple times in Bronx building: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man was shot multiple times inside a Bronx building Thursday evening and was pronounced dead at a hospital just across the street.

Police said on Thursday just before 7 p.m., officers responded to a call for a man shot at 558 East 181st St. in Belmont.

It was there that cops found a 35-year-old man lying in a ninth-floor hallway with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.

EMS brought the man to St. Barnabas Hospital, just feet away from the building, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The victim has since been identified as Jose Garcia, of the Bronx.

No arrests have been made thus far.
