NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 49-year-old man was allegedly driving drunk when he fatally struck a 21-year-old New York University student with his sports car on the Lower East Side early Monday.

Police responded at 2:48 a.m. to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian struck in the vicinity of First Avenue and East Houston Street.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 21-year-old male pedestrian, later identified as Raife Milligan, lying on the roadway with head trauma.
EMS responded and transported him to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased the next day.
Milligan was crossing East Houston Street near 1 Avenue when he was struck by a Chevrolet Camaro driven by 49-year-old Michael Deguzman traveling along East Houston Street, according to the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad.
Police said the Camaro then struck a Honda CRV, driven by a 52-year-old man, which was also traveling along East Houston Street.
Two additional passengers inside the Camaro were also transferred to Bellevue Hospital, each in stable condition.
Deguzman, of Astoria, was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while ability impaired by alcohol.
Milligan, of Jasper, Indiana, was studying biochemistry at NYU and dreamed of becoming a doctor, according to a GoFundMe created to help his family with travel, medical and burial expenses.
