NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A 14-year-old boy was nearly shoved onto the subway tracks at a Brooklyn station by a man he'd accidentally bumped moments earlier, police said Friday as they released an image of a suspect.
The 14-year-old victim was on a northbound L train at 9 a.m. Monday when he accidentally knocked into the man.
Nothing more happened on the train, but when the two got off at the Bedford Avenue station, the man went on the attack over the innocuous bump, police said.
After the train pulled away, he pushed the boy towards the open track, according to police.
The boy was able to grab the edge of the platform and didn't hit the rail bed or deadly electrified third rail.
He suffered minor injuries and was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull, where he was in stable condition.
The man fled the station and was still being sought Friday.
