NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police have released the name and mugshot of the suspect they're hunting for after an unprovoked double stabbing in Brooklyn on Saturday led to the death of an 83-year-old man.
Joevani Vale, 26, was named as the attacker in the thigh slashing of a 31-year-old woman at 134 Nevins St. in Boerum Hill. After the 1:30 p.m. attack, the victim was taken to Methodist Hospital in stable condition.
Less than three blocks away, Ramon Cintron was found dead with stab wounds to his neck and right arm in an elevator inside the Wyckoff Gardens NYCHA complex at 185 Nevins St. around 2:20 p.m.
Vale is also wanted for fatally stabbing Cintron, who lived in the building where he was killed, according to police.
Sources told the Daily News that Vale has three prior arrests on his record: a September 2020 assault arrest, a February 2016 bust for forcible touching and a September 2015 arrest for public lewdness.
