Suspect sought in $1,220 Queens Capital One Bank robbery

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man is wanted for robbing a bank in Queens Saturday morning and making away with over $1,000, authorities said.

Around 9:30 a.m., the suspect entered a Capital One bank at 40-20 Queens Boulevard in Sunnyside,, police said.

The man allegedly handed the bank teller a threatening note demanding money. The teller complied and handed the man about $1,220.

Cops said after the man got the money, he fled the scene in a yellow cab before getting out a few blocks away to continue fleeing on foot.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The suspect  is described as having a light complexion, about 45-55 years old, roughly 6'0" in height, and approximately 220 lbs in weight. He was last seen wearing a black long sleeve shirt, dark colored jeans, black sneakers and black baseball hat.
