VIDEO: Teen wounded as gunman opens fire on street near Bronx school

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A gunman fired off multiple shots near a school in the Bronx on Sunday evening, leaving a teen wounded, police said Tuesday as they released video of the shooting.

The video shows the shooter pulling out a handgun and opening fire at Grant Avenue and East 169th Street in the Claremont section around 6 p.m. Sunday.

One of the shots struck a 17-year-old boy in his left shoulder, police said. He was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.

The shots were fired about a block away from the S. Silverstein Little Sparrow elementary school and about two blocks away from the Taft Educational Campus, which include several high schools.

It’s unclear if the teen was a target of the shooting or if he's a student at one of the nearby high schools.

No other injuries were reported.

Video shows the shooter fleeing with a female eastbound on East 169th Street, police said.
