NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 74-year-old woman was punched in the face and knocked to the ground in an unprovoked, broad-daylight attack on a Midtown Manhattan sidewalk this week, police said Friday.

The NYPD released surveillance video showing Wednesday morning's heinous assault at Madison Avenue and E. 52nd Street, a block north of St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

The victim was walking down the street at 11 a.m. when another woman suddenly slugged her in the face, sending her collapsing to the pavement, video shows.

The suspect fled the area on foot and was last seen heading up Madison Avenue, police said.

EMS responded and transported the victim to NYU Langone Medical Center, where she was listed in stable condition.
