More legal problems for Derek Chauvin and estranged wife. The former Minneapolis Police Officer who is charged with George Floyd's death is now facing felony tax evasion charges.
44-year old Derek Chauvin, as well as his estranged wife Kellie May Chauvin, are each charged with nine felony counts of tax fraud in Washington County.
According to the charges, the Chauvins failed to pay income taxes from 2016 through 2018, and underreported their income in 2014, 2015, and 2019.
Chauvin, who was filmed kneeling on the neck of George Floyd for several minutes, is charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter in Floyd's death. His wife filed for divorce shortly after the May 25th incident.
