Football is done. And that means that it is time to turn our eyes to Florida (or Arizona) and Spring Training!
On Monday, the Minnesota Twins and News Talk 830 WCCO and 102.9 The Wolf announced the 2023 slate of Spring Training games both on the air and available for streaming on the Audacy App. WCCO and The Wolf will broadcast 13 games, while the Treasure Island Baseball Network Audacy app will live stream 22 separate games on WCCO2.
All 23 broadcasts will originate on-site from ballparks in Florida with exclusive live interviews of players, on-field personnel or front office staff as the club prepares for the 2023 season. Twins broadcasters Cory Provus, Dan Gladden and Kris Atteberry will handle most of the radio broadcasts with appearances from former Twin Justin Morneau.
Spring games start on Saturday, February 25 with the Twins hosting Tampa at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers. Most games will start at Noon Central Time with two 5:00p.m. starts on March 21 and 22.
In addition, WCCO Radio will have Drivetime with DeRusha in Fort Myers leading up to the first game. Jason DeRusha’s show will be live at Hammond Stadium Monday, February 20 through Friday, February 24 with special guests from the Twins, plus a look at how the area has recovered from Hurricane Ian.
