
University of Minnesota students are told to be vigilant following a series of on-campus robberies.
Five robberies have been reported on the Minneapolis campus since Halloween. Four of the five robberies have been armed robberies and have all happened between Wednesday and Sunday.
Sunday's armed robbery happened around 1:35 p.m. near 1000 University Avenue Southeast. Two suspects, described as males wearing dark hooded sweatshirts, drove off in a black Dodge Durango. Both men had handguns according to the alert.
Two armed robberies were reported almost simultaneously Friday afternoon near Huntington Bank Stadium. The first was an attempted carjacking where the victim was able to drive-off. In the second robbery, the victim had their cell phone stolen.
According to the safety alerts, the Minneapolis Police Department is investigating the robberies. University of Minnesota Police are investigating an armed robbery from November 3 where victim's purse and cell phone were both stolen.
