Two teenagers are facing lengthy prison sentences in connection with multiple carjackings and robberies in the Twin Cities.

Asa Huff-Jones, 17, and Raveyan Smith, 18, each pleaded guilty to four counts of first-degree aggravated robbery.

Both teenagers had been certified to stand trial as adults, according to Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman. The plea agreements mean the teens will avoid trial.

"Our office is committed to prosecuting carjacking cases submitted to us to the fullest extent of the law," Freeman said in a statement. "We take these matters seriously, and are doing everything in our power to ensure those who commit violent felony offenses are punished for their infractions."

Officials said Huff-Jones and Smith were involved in separate crimes in late 2020 and early 2021. Huff-Jones was 16-years-old at the time of his offenses, according to police, and Smith was 17-years-old.

As part of his plea agreement, Huff-Jones was sentenced on December 15 to 86 months in prison. Smith is scheduled to be sentenced on February 3 to 93 months in prison.
