AFC champion coach Mike Vrabel joins GHS
It probably seemed like a good idea at the time.
When Mike Vrabel went on the 'Bussin With the Boys podcast in 2019 and agreed to cut off his penis if he won a Super Bowl as a head coach, it was all fun and games. "Been married 20 years. Yeah, probably," the then-Tennessee Titans head coach said. "She’d (Jen Vrabel) be like do you want me to do it? Do you want to do it now?"
But then, three years later, Vrabel was adjusting his stance a bit, telling The Pat McAfee Show he would execute the action only if it was guaranteed there could be a surgical reattachment.
"Yeah. One year? Yeah I'd do it. One year," Vrabel said.
But now the Patriots head coach sits just one win away from that Super Bowl championship, so it only made sense for the crew at The Greg Hill Show to revisit his proclamation from seven years before.
Vrabel's answer? Well, it was ... creative.
"Maybe I will cut it in half, but I ain't cutting the whole thing off," he said.
"That was just to get that young, fledgling group, Taylor (Lewan) and Will (Compton), get them to fly in the podcast game and it took off. I say a lot of things I don't mean."
The Patriots take on the Seahawks Feb. 8 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. in Super Bowl LX. If they win, it's a question Vrabel will get a chance to answer one last time.
