An end to the saga?
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Mac Jones will not be suspended for his alleged “cup check” of Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner on Sunday.
On his weekly appearance with WEEI’s Jones and Mego, the Patriots quarterback denied any wrongdoing:
“Sauce is one of the best corners in the NFL. I have a lot of respect for him. On that play, nothing was intentional. I just got up and went back to the huddle, and that’s it.”
He later added that “it’s football,” and that he was “just trying to get up and go back to the huddle. And like I just said, nothing there.”
Pelissero added to his reporting that it’s possible, though not certain, that Jones could be fined for the incident.
