The NFL has independent trainers at every game to spot any potential concussions and make sure those players are removed from the game and evaluated. They missed one Monday night.

During the first quarter of the Patriots' game against the Cardinals, DeVante Parker's head hit the ground after a 10-yard reception. Parker was visibly woozy as he got up, but no one seemed to notice, including the concussion spotter.

As Parker lined up for the next play, he seemed to be losing his balance and struggling just to stay on his feet. It took teammate Nelson Agholor taking a knee and flailing his arms to finally get the play stopped and get Parker the medical attention he clearly needed.

Parker was initially deemed questionable to return with a head injury, but never returned to the field and was eventually ruled out.

It was one of several key injuries in the first half, as Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson and cornerback Jack Jones were also knocked out of the game. Arizona's starting running back, James Conner, also briefly left the game with an injury but was able to return.

The Patriots entered the game already missing top wide receiver Jakobi Meyers as well as running back Damien Harris.
