6 rings & football things: Reacting to Day 2 of NFL Free Agency
In their first move since the official beginning of the 2024 NFL New League year, the Patriots are adding to their defensive front.
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, New England is signing defensive tackle Armon Watts.
It's a one-year deal worth up to $3 million, per the Boston Herald's Andrew Callahan.
Watts was a sixth round pick of the Vikings in the 2019 NFL Draft. He playes three seasons in Minnesota before being released ahead of the 2022 season. The 27-year-old spend 2022 with the Chicago Bears and 2023 with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Through 72 NFL games and 22 starts, Watts has tallied 140 total tackles, 8.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles. He now joins a defensive tackle room in New England alongside Christian Barmore, Davon Godchaux, Deatrich Wise, and Jeremiah Pharms Jr.
