6 rings: patriots vs. dolphins preview
The practice-time temperature on Friday in Foxborough was a warm 73 degrees, an unconventional number for October in New England.
This was the third consecutive day that the thermometer has broken 70 and in doing so, has helped the Patriots in their preparation for their matchup against the Dolphins.
With the game-time temperature for Sunday's contest at Miami Hard Rock Stadium expected to be 81 degrees, not only has the rare Massachusetts heat been a service, but the Patriots have also been taking the practice field bundled up in sweatshirts and long sleeves under their pads to try and get their bodies ready.
Chess, not checkers. Here’s what stood out in their final session before Sunday:
Attendance:
Absent:
OT Calvin Anderson
IR:
CB Marcus Jones
DL Daniel Ekuale
CB Christian Gonzalez
LB Matthew Judon
OT Tyrone Wheatley Jr.
OT Riley Reiff
OT Rile
Other Notes:
- RB Ty Montgomery missed Thursday's practice due to a personal day, but was back in the building and on the field on Friday.
- OT Calvin Anderson was absent for a second consecutive day with an illness. Head coach Bill Belichick said on Friday that the illness is not the same one that kept Anderson out of training camp, but said he doesn't "really know enough to talk about it." When asked if the tackle could play again this season, Belichick said: "Hope so. But I don't know. It's not really a football injury."
