Report: Bills restructure Stefon Diggs' contract

The move reportedly saves team over $5 million in salary cap space

Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - First it was Josh Allen and Von Miller.

Now, the Bills have reportedly restructured the contract of Stefon Diggs, clearing an additional $5.4 million in salary cap space, according to ESPN NFL insider Field Yates.

Allen's salary was converted into a signing bonus, while Miller had a roster bonus that was also converted into a signing bonus. Those two moves saved the Bills roughly $32 million in cap space.

According to Spotrac, the Bills now officially have more than $14.335 million in salary cap space when counting the top-51 contracts on the roster.

The Bills needed to be under the salary cap by the time the new league year and NFL Free Agency officially begins at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
