Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - While the Buffalo Sabres may not be off to the start they had envisioned to the 2023-24 regular season, the team will look to get back on track and build off Tuesday night's win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Ahead of a Thursday night showdown with the Calgary Flames at KeyBank Center in Downtown Buffalo, Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams joined "Schopp and the Bulldog" for the first time this season on WGR.
One of the exciting young talents on the Sabres roster that is getting plenty of attention to start the season is goaltender Devon Levi. The 21-year-old has started Buffalo's first three games of the season, and is set to start again Thursday against the Flames.
"I’m excited about Devon, where he’s at right now, and, obviously, where we think he can continue to grow and get to," said Adams on Thursday with Mike Schopp and Chris "Bulldog" Parker.
The Sabres have announced that former goaltender Craig Anderson has returned to the team as a mentor and hockey liaison. This after playing his final game last season and retiring after a prolific 20-year NHL career. Adams gave a look into what his role with the organization could look like.
"It’s more of a part-time role to start… maybe going out to dinner with Devon Levi and our goaltenders and just talking," Adams said. "He’s a high character guy who can help us, and we’ll figure it out as we go."
