Pontiac (WWJ) -- The search is on for the man responsible in a Sunday evening double shooting outside a Pontiac convenience store that left one man dead and another injured.
Oakland County sheriff’s detectives are investigating the shooting that happened shortly after 7 p.m. outside the Lyons Food Market at 640 Auburn Ave.

Deputies were dispatched to the location on multiple reports of shots being fired. Following their arrival, they found Frederick Lamar Betty, 39, of Pontiac, lying on the pavement in front of the store with a gunshot wound on his back. The second man, a 48-year-old Pontiac resident, was shot in the foot and found inside the store.
Both men were shot as they walked out of the store, police said.
Betty, who had been shot multiple times, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead several hours later. The second victim was treated for a non-life-threatening injury.
The suspect is described as a Black male who was wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans, tan Timberland boots and a blue hat.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $2,000 for tips that lead to an arrest in the case.
