SENECA TWP. (WWJ) -- Michigan State Police are investigating a deadly crash involving two teenage drivers in Lenawee County.
Troopers with the MSP Monroe Post responded to the scene just before 4:15 p.m. Thursday, along Lime Creek Hwy., south of W. Mulberry Rd. in Seneca Township, and spoke with witnesses.
A preliminary investigation found that a 19-year-old Morenci woman was driving a black Ford Fusion southbound on Lime Creek, approaching the city of Morenci, when a 16-year-old boy on a Honda dirt bike pulled out onto the road.
The dirt bike was hit by the Fusion, police said, fatally injuring the dirt bike driver.
His name was not immediately released.
The young woman in the car was not hurt and no other vehicle were involved in the crash, according to MSP.
At this point, police do not believe that speed or alcohol played a role in the incident, which remains under investigation.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Morenci Police Department, Morenci EMS and the Morenci Fire Department.
Anyone with additional information about the crash should call Tpr. Miccoy Drzewiecki of the MSP Monroe Post at 734-242-3500.
