18-year-old woman 'clinging to life' after being run over multiple times in Detroit parking lot

DETROIT (WWJ)) -- An 18-year-old Detroit woman is still unconscious after being run over multiple times by an SUV in a school parking lot.

According to authorities, the woman was found critically injured outside of the Fisher Magnet Upper Academy early Monday morning on the city's east side.

Rudy Harper, 2nd deputy chief with the Detroit Police Department said the woman is hospitalized in critical condition and "clinging to life," according to the Detroit News.

The school is a Project Green Light location so there is surveillance footage, which, shows the SUV enter the parking lot before running over the woman, backing up over her and then running over her again.

According to officials, the woman laid on the cement for hours, unconscious, until a man found her and called 911.

Authorities said the attack happened before school and the woman is not a student there.

It is unknown why the woman was ran over or what led up to it.

DPD Captain Kimberly Blackwell told Fox 2 Detroit reporters that whoever did it was trying to kill her.

The woman's identity has not been released.
