DETROIT (WWJ) -- Felony assault charges have been filed against two Detroit men who were arrested at the scene of a non-fatal freeway shooting last Monday.

Donyell Smith, 29, and Andre Richard-Jordan, 32, were taken into custody on May 8, following a late-morning shooting on I-96 near Schaefer Highway.

Police responded to reports of shots fired just before 11 a.m. and discovered one unnamed victim, who had been struck twice and was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

Smith and Jordan now stand accused of assault with intent to murder, shooting a firearm from a vehicle causing injury, felonious assault and possession of firearms and ammunition.

A third-time habitual offender notice was also filed, though it is unclear if that charge applies to one man or both.

The defendants were arraigned Friday and received $500,000 bonds.
