DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit detectives are sharing new information about their investigation into the murder of local neurosurgeon Dr. Devon Hoover -- a weekend break-in at the doctor's Boston Edison mansion.
Authorities have confirmed the break-in at the residence, located in the 100 block of W. Boston Blvd., near Woodward Ave. The incident occurred late Saturday night, going into Sunday morning.
Little more is known at this time, and it remains unclear if anything was stolen. Law enforcement has not provided details about how the suspect entered the residence or what state the home was in when the break-in was discovered.
Hoover's body was discovered wrapped in a sheet in his attic on Apr. 23, when DPD conducted a welfare check. Medical examiners said the victim sustained several gunshots to the head, and officials believe he knew his attacker.
DPD arrested a "person of interest" on an unrelated charge shortly after midnight on Thursday, but no charges been filed.
Hoover worked at Ascension Healthcare at St. John Hospital in Detroit. His funeral was held on Sunday.
