INKSTER (WWJ) -- A Canton Township man has been charged in connection with the death of a man whose body was found in Inkster over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
Alijah Williams, 22, was arraigned in 22nd District Court Wednesday on charges filed by the Wayne County Prosecutor, including one count of homicide and one count of using a firearm in commission of a felony.
On Saturday, July 2, Michigan State Police said detectives with the Special Investigation Section responded to the area of Mt. Vernon and Fairwood in Inkster where a 29-year-old man was found dead.
There was an investigation, and Williams was identified as a suspect in the slaying, police said.
Authorities have not yet released any information about what led up to the killing, or a possible motive in the case. The victim's name has not been released.
Williams was remanded to the Wayne County Jail without bond, pending further court proceedings.
