TROY (WWJ) -- A Oakland County man with at least two previous drunken driving convictions is facing a new charge after a traffic stop last weekend in Troy.

A little after 12 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, Troy Police said the pulled over the driver of a 2021 Ram 1500 "for multiple traffic violations," along Big Beaver Rd., near Bellingham Dr.

When officers spoke with the driver, identified as a 50-year-old man from Farmington Hills, they noted that he was slurring his speech and his eyes were glassy.

The driver told the officers that he was on his way to work, but when they asked to see his driver's license they learned that it had been revoked.

After police said the driver failed a series of sobriety evaluations, he refused to take a breathalyzer test at the scene.

The man was arrested and taken to the Troy Police lock-up where a chemical breath test showed his BAC (blood alcohol concentration) was .13%, which is well over the legal limit for driving in Michigan.

The driver was charged with Operating while Intoxicated - 3rd Offense or subsequent.

His name was not immediately released.
