(WWJ) A suspect has been arrested in connection with a non-fatal shooting on I-75, Michigan State Police announced Saturday morning.
MSP said investigators have determined the shooting was not random, and several pieces of evidence – along with a handgun – were also recovered by detectives.
The incident happened around 12:10 p.m. Friday afternoon as a man was traveling northbound on I-75 near E Holly Rd. Police said his white Chevy was targeted by a then unknown person, who shot at and struck the man. He was last reported to be in serious condition and was taken to a local hospital.
No update on the victim’s condition has been released.
Police were told by witnesses that a white Audi may have been driven by the suspect.
Sections of I-75 in Oakland County closed for several hours while police investigated and authorities were able to serve several search warrants overnight with assistance from their Emergency Support team.
“Detectives are continuing to work the investigation and will present an investigator’s report to the prosecutor shortly,” MSP put out on Twitter this afternoon.
