WANTED: Man who broke into Farmington Hills apartment, stole laptops and credit cards

FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) -- Farmington Hills Police are looking for a man suspected of breaking into an apartment and stealing electronics and credit cards.

Investigators say it happened at around 9 a.m. Thursday at Independence Green Apartments, in the area of Halsted and Grand River Ave.

The man reportedly got away with laptops and a purse that contained several credit cards.

Police said they were able to trace a credit card transaction about 30 minutes later to a business in Detroit, where the alleged thief was caught on surveillance camera.

Seen in an image released by the police department on Friday, the suspect is described as a Black male in his 20s, with facial hair and a slender build, driving a dark gray Mazda; possibly a Mazda3.
