PONTIAC (WWJ) -- There's good news to report in the case of a pre-teen girl who went missing earlier this week.

Detectives with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office had asked for the public's help as they searched for the girl, after she disappeared Wednesday night.

The sheriff's office said 12-year-old Martavia Molett was last seen by her family at about 9 p.m. on April 19, at her home on Carriage Circle, in the area of Auburn Ave. and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

She was reported missing the following morning when she did not show up for school.

OCSO deputies canvassed the area near the school and her home but had no luck finding the missing child.

In an update shared by the sheriff's office, officials said Molett returned home about 8 p.m. Thursday.

Friday morning, detectives verified that she had been reunited with her family.

It's not clear where she'd been. No further information was released.
