PONTIAC, Mich. (WWJ) -- An investigation is underway after a man’s body was in the Clinton River on Saturday.
Christopher Espinoza’s body was found lying face down in about three feet of water near the river’s shoreline around 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the area of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Featherstone Street, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. No cause of death has been determined.

Police say Espinoza’s mother and girlfriend reported him missing five days earlier.
The 24-year-old man's mother -- who lives in Texas but had been working in Colorado -- traveled to Pontiac on Thursday after her son’s boss contacted her to say Espinoza had missed work, which was out of character.
His mother was able to track him to a Rite Aid pharmacy near MLK and Featherstone, where she was able to see him on surveillance video, which showed him walking south along the boulevard.
The sheriff’s office says his mother “knew her son liked nature and sitting by the water,” so she thought looking near the river would be a good place to search.
Foul play is not suspected, according to the sheriff’s office. An autopsy was performed on Sunday and the cause of death is pending the results of toxicology reports.
