FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) -- Farmington Hills police arrested a 17-year-old male student after he allegedly posted photos of his female classmates to a pornographic website.
According to a press release from Police Chief Jeff King, complaints surfaced about a male student at North Farmington High School uploading nonsexual photographs of female students to the website in question.
With assistance from North Farmington HS administrators, the school's liaison officer arrested the accused student on Wednesday -- less than 24 hours after the first complaint was made.
The suspect was taken to the Farmington Hills Police Station and later released into his parents' custody.
Farmington Hills PD, school administrators, the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office and the Department of Homeland Security will be involved in an ongoing investigation into the incident. Chief King has said that his department will aggressively pursue the case to the full extent of the law.
"The posting of images to websites with the intent to terrorize, frighten, intimidate, harass or molest is a crime," Chief King said.
"The Farmington Hills Police Department approaches all issues involving our residents, including our students and youth, with a victim-centered focus, providing the highest level of discretion, thoroughness and professionalism."
