(WWJ) -- An Oakland County woman is behind bars and facing multiple felonies after allegedly stealing her parents’ jeep and eventually crashing it into a brick garage wall of a neighborhood home while she was drunk.
Jacqueline Elizabeth Bal of Rochester Hills has been charged with unlawfully driving away in an automobile and two counts of resisting and obstructing a police officer for the incident on Oct. 17. A fourth charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated is pending the issuance of toxicology reports.

A hectic scene unfolded in the 1700 block of Spring Creek Drive in Rochester Hills on Sunday morning when Bal, 32, allegedly got behind the wheel of her parents’ 2020 Jeep Cherokee, drove it off the road, struck two mailboxes and traveled up the driveway before smashing into the brick garage.
The crash caused significant damage to the garage, even requiring a commercial contractor to come to the scene to secure the structure before the vehicle was removed.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Office released photos of the damage, showing the front end of the jeep smashed into the wall, as well as damage to what appears to be a classic car inside the garage.

When Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies arrived to the scene, they found Bal in the driver’s seat of the Jeep, with several empty beer and wine bottles scattered around the inside of the Jeep, while she reeked of alcohol.
Bal refused to answer any of the deputies’ questions, but eventually got out of the Jeep and sat on the front steps of the residence, where she refused to take a breathalyzer test.
That’s when Bal tried to punch a Rochester Hills firefighter who was trying to help her.
Deputies then told her she was under arrest and she locked her arms around a stair guardrail and kicked one deputy in the leg and tried to kick another in the face, according to the sheriff’s office.
Officials say Bal began laughing during this time when she realized she had defecated in her pants. She was ultimately arrested and treated for injuries at a hospital.
The sheriff’s office said in a press release Monday before Bal had been charged that she took the car, which belongs to her mother’s husband, without permission.
Police did not disclose whether the home she crashed into belonged to Bal’s parents.
Bal is due back in court on Nov. 1 for a probable cause conference before District Judge Nancy Carniak. A preliminary examination is set for Nov. 8.
