
(WWJ) Police are searching for an unknown man wanted in an assault on a woman out walking on Detroit's east side.
According to investigators, at around 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19, the 63-year-old victim was walking eastbound in the 3000 block of E. Lafayette. As she was passing the I-375 crosswalk, she was approached by man she didn't know.


The woman told police the stranger charged at her, using his body to physically assault her and causing her to stumble.
The suspect then continued to walk westbound on E. Lafayette.
Police said the woman was not injured.
The suspect is described as a white male in his ate 40s to mid-50s. He was around 5'7'' to 6' tall, with a large build, and was last seen wearing a black skull cap, black-framed glasses, black face mask, dark-colored hooded coat, denim blue jeans, and black boots.
On Tuesday, police released surveillance photos of the man, hoping that someone in the public may recognize him.
