Woman hospitalized after man allegedly fleeing cops crashes in Macomb County

WARREN (WWJ) -- A man is behind bars after he allegedly fled police and caused a crash in Macomb County that sent a woman to the hospital.

Police said they attempted to pull over a Mustang near 10 Mile Road and Groesbeck Highway in Warren around 7 p.m. Monday, but according to Fox 2 Detroit, the man allegedly sped off.

The driver then ran a red light, lost control of his car and then slammed into an SUV before taking down a utility pole.

Police said a female passenger in the Mustang had to be cut out of the vehicle and was taken to a local hospital for unknown injuries. Her condition is currently unknown.

It's not clear if the other driver was hurt.
