PORT HURON, Mich. (WWJ) -- A popular fireworks display in Port Huron could make its return this summer, a year after it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Port Huron City Manager James Freed says they have authorized a notice to proceed with the fireworks show as part of the Blue Water Festival.
The show is expected to cost about $8,600, while a $5,000 grant from the DTE Foundation for the 2020 Blue Water Festival is expected to be used.
The city is looking to raise funds to pay for the remaining costs.
The festival is expected to be held in July, though no specific date has been announced.
The city had prepaid half of the cost for last year’s fireworks display before it was postponed.
More details on the fireworks show and other events are expected to be announced soon on TheBlueWaterFest.com.
