LIMA TWP. (WWJ) — Drivers in Washtenaw County are dealing with delays on I-94 after a semi-truck hauling salt crashed and spilled its load.
The crash happened along westbound I-94 west of Baker Road — about eight miles west of Ann Arbor — around 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Michigan State Police troopers were called to the area after the truck drove off the road, causing one of the salt truck’s trailers to overturn and spill its load on the freeway.
MSP officials believe the 63-year-old driver suffered a medical emergency. He was rushed to University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. His condition was not immediately known.
No other cars were involved in the crash.
MSP officials say drivers should expect delays on WB I-94 west of Baker as the right lane will be intermittently closed while crews clean up the crash.
