ALLEGAN COUNTY (WWJ) - A missing man last seen in Grand Rapids four days ago was found deceased at an apparent crash site Thursday afternoon in West Michigan, state troopers announced.

Michigan State Police said the body of Logan Sweet was discovered around 3:30 p.m. in a wooded area in Allegan County -- he had been missing since July 24 when he was last seen attending a concert at The Listening Room.

Officials said it appears Sweet veered off the roadway and went into the woods. Sweet's 2022 Kawasaki 650 sport bike then struck a tree, police added.

Sweet was pronounced dead at the scene.

Search attempts earlier in the week involved an MSP helicopter flying overhead in the area of Doerr and Burnips in an effort to locate the missing man.

Detectives poured over video surveillance footage to determine Sweet's possible route of travel and residents were encouraged to review their home video surveillance for someone riding a motorcycle between 10:30 and 11:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Landowners were also asked by MSP to search their fields.

Troopers said a good Samaritan who came to join the search on Thursday made the discovery.

State police thanked the Allegan County Sheriff's Office, MSP Aviation, Western Michigan University Medical Examiner and volunteers who came together to search "tirelessly over the past few days."

"Our thoughts and prayers are extended to the family and friends during this difficult time," authorities said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
