BRIGHTON (WWJ) – Police in Brighton have released video of the three suspects they’re searching for in connection with an attempted theft of an ATM on Memorial Day.
Police officials say the suspects tried to steal the ATM from a Chase Bank on Grand River Avenue around 3:15 a.m. Monday, but failed.
After the suspects pried open the ATM and hooked it up to a tow chain, the driver took off speeding. Not only did the ATM stay in place, the driver slammed the white pickup truck into guide wires to a utility pole, knocking out power in the area.
Power remained out until about noon on Monday.
The incident remains under investigation and police officials are asking anyone who knows something about the attempted ATM theft to come forward.
