PONTIAC (WWJ) – A new trial date has been set for the parents of Oxford High School shooter Ethan Crumbley.
An Oakland County Circuit Court judge has scheduled the trial for Dec. 17, 2023. James and Jennifer Crumbley are charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the shooting that claimed the lives of four students.
Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald claims the parents bought the gun used in the shooting last November for their teenaged son and didn't get him help when he needed it.
A hearing is scheduled for this Friday for both sides to discuss experts who will be called to testify during the trial.
Their 16-year-old son pleaded guilty on Monday to all 24 felony charges related to the shooting, including four counts of first-degree murder and one count of terrorism.
Crumbley was not offered a plea deal.
