WARREN (WWJ) -- A Detroit woman is behind bars after police say she lied about a carjacking and kidnapping.

According to Warren police, the 25-year-old woman initially told them that her rental car was carjacked -- with her 3-year-old son inside -- from a Sunoco gas station on 8 Mile Road and Van Dyke Avenue.

But she later admitted to police that the boy's father picked him up after the both of them got into an argument around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

According to officials, the woman is currently in jail after being booked on an outstanding warrant for retail fraud.

Police say they're still looking for the father and a Chrysler Pacifica that could possibly be a rental.
